ACCEPTANCE

By opening an account with Designer Exchange, you accept the terms below.

CONSIGNING & SELLING

Items are priced by our team based on original retail price and condition. Consignors receive 50% of the final selling price. Select style handbags are the exception, for which the commission split is subject to negotiation.

The final selling price is determined and/or reduced at our discretion; this includes promotional events, seasonal sales or any imperfections.

Items must come in ready to sell condition (like-new, pressed, and odour free). All items not meeting this standard are subject to return to the consignor at our own discretion.

Our sales floor is rotated weekly, and items are displayed at our discretion. Due to the high number of products in-store, we cannot guarantee items will be featured on our social media.

TIMELINE & DISCOUNTS

Items are reduced each month to promote turnover and have a total selling period of two months. Items are discounted 30% after one month, 50% after two months and 75% after three months if they are still in store. We will also discount items on a faster schedule during end of season sales and year end clearance sales. We cannot guarantee your items will not be discounted. If you do not want them to be discounted, please make note to pick them up before the first month. If your items still remain after the selling period, they are subject for donation. Your item list report will have a pick-up date listed, that is when your items will have expired. Please note that date. We recommend using a calendar reminder at that time if you would not like your items donated.

ITEM RETURNS & PICK UP

Items can be requested for return at any time. We just ask that they stay for at least the first month. We need at least 48 hours notice to pull your items and have them ready for you. Items pulled for return should be picked up within the month or they are subject to donation. If you need extra time please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate. We are not responsible for damaged goods.

PAYOUT

If your items have sold, the money will be added to your account. You can use your earnings as in store credit or you may request a cheque. We write cheques on the 15th of each month. Please request a cheque before the 15th. You can call during store hours or email us at any time to request. After the 15th, you may come and collect your cheque whenever works for you during store hours. If necessary we can mail your cheque to you, please let us know if so. 

Cheques will be voided after 1 year if they have not been picked up. 

ACCOUNT INQUIRIES

Accounts are set up in store using a name, email and phone number. After your items have been accepted and input into our system you will receive an email with the subject line “Items List for Account #XXXX”.

To complete your registration, open the link in the body of the email, and when prompted enter the same email address you provided during the in-store account setup for both the username and the password.

Please note that we will not contact consignors when items have sold. It is up to the consignor to keep up to date with their account. Please note that the app only shows items that are sold. If you have just opened your account with us and do not see any items within the app, you have likely not sold any items at that point.

AUTHENTICITY

Designer Exchange is committed to representing only genuine designer pieces. At our discretion, items will be put through an authentication process. If an item is deemed inauthentic it will be returned to the consignor. We may contact consignors for additional authentication documents.

All handbags consigned without original receipts are authenticated using our third-party authenticator, Entrupy. More details can be found here: https://fingerprinting.entrupy.com/.

The cost of authenticating each handbag will be charged to your account at a fee of CDN $45.00, and for Hermès CDN $100

We authenticate the following designers: Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Goyard, Céline, Gucci, Fendi, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Burberry, Balenciaga, Chloe, Prada, Coach.

CONDITION OF ITEM

Due to the pre-owned nature of our items, there may be gentle wear. Any relevant damage noted at intake is recorded on the individual items condition chart. Please do not hesitate to ask for any additional information.

PRIVACY POLICY

Designer Exchange is committed to protecting your privacy. All personal information provided is solely used to process your order or contact you regarding a particular transaction. All information is gathered securely through Liberty POS and is treated seriously and with full respect to your privacy. Designer Exchange guarantees the information you enter will not be disclosed to any outside organization or third party.

FINAL SALE

All sales are non-refundable. Please thoroughly review the specifications of each item prior to purchasing. Feel free to contact us with any further inquiries regarding products of interest or returns during store hours at info@designerexchange.com or 647-342-8500. Alternatively, if an item doesn't work out, we are happy to re-consign the item on your behalf.
